First time poster so forgive me for my sins.

We are currently on a unlimited (adsl) plan from slingshot. Around the same time global mode was introduced I have had issues connecting to the origin gaming service. This is the only problem I have had, I've since switched off global mode.

Since then I have been on the phone to try and sort out this but no matter the settings I haven't been able to get the client working, unless I route it through my phone.

Has anyone had similar issues or even better yet a solution?

Have you checked PC and router firewalls are permitting the connection to Origin?

From EA.

  • Firewalls and Internet Security Software: Make sure that you’ve added the Origin client as an exception to any Firewalls or other Internet Security Software, like Ad-Block, you may have running so that your connection to our servers isn’t blocked.
  • Your software may even have some internet ports blocked. If so, the following are used by the Origin client and must be open for a smooth connection:

    • TCP: 80; 443; 9960-9969; 1024-1124; 18000; 18120; 18060; 27900; 28910; 29900
    • UDP: 1024-1124; 18000; 29900

Do you have a TP-Link router by any chance?
