Hi all,

Is anyone else seeing their external IP address being reset more frequently than normal?

I'm on ADSL, unlimited, Genius Black modem.

IP address would only normally be reset on a modem cycle, or occasionally from upstream. But I've had it reset twice in the last 24 hours... and several times in the last few weeks.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Sometimes you will be switched between BNGs as a result of planned or unplanned network actions, each time your ip address will change.

For instance 1 backhaul transient glitch may switch you to a different BNG to maintain service, once we are happy the network is stable we will switch you back to ensure the network stays balanced.

thanks both - I'd seen the other thread but wasn't sure if that was the cause.
