Resolved a conflict and tried to register a .nz with Orcon/iserve (to keep everything with the same registrar) but there's no .nz in the dropdown list?

PeterReader needs more information from you.

I just registered mine using Metaname, it took forever due to the DNC under heavy load.

It looks like geekzone.net.nz has rights to geekzone.nz (and just noted that is you)

Yes, it is me. I wanted to keep it with the same registrar but it seems I will have to move somewhere else if I want to register now.

Could always register it under another provider and transfer it in?

I would like not to have to transfer things. Will wait another couple of hours then see where we are at with Orcon.

I've been told this is being fixed soon - however we were actively sending comms to customers at least three weeks before this date saying that we were not going to be ready on the day.

I have about fifteen domains with Orcon and didn't get any notification.

Sound like that's working as well as detecting whether Orcon email accounts are still actively in use :-P

Metaname. What a bad first experience: you have to load your account but the pricing is excluding GST and excluding PayPal fees. So you charge $28.75 for the domain + GST and still don't have enough for a full year.

Getting out of there as soon as possible.

Right. .nz domain live now, DNS working.

Once Orcon gets .nz support I might transfer back to have all under same registrar.

You are the only person I have ever heard speak anything less than happily about Metaname. Their site clearly states that you need to allow for Paypal fees if you chose to pay via Paypal.
I have sent a lot of people to use their service and nobody has had a single complaint.

Yes, sure. But they don't say how much are those fees, so I put a bit more than I thought but it wasn't enough so I only had enough to renew for 11 months, leaving with a balance, which I don't plan to use.

Sure, could have used bank payment. Or they could have a total price including the PayPal fee, and absorb the costs, as many other business do, so you as a customer know exactly how much you have to top-up.

Seems "http://live.geekzone.nz" not working to redirect yet?

Was looking to limit the input to get straight here :D
