I notice orcon and flip are here in Tauranga but I would prefer to be with slingshot. What is the reason it is taking so long to be made available?

Slingshot don't offer services over all the LFCs right now, just Chorus.

As to when that will change, that's something on they can answer.

there are different fiber providers (the companies that install the fibre) for different areas of the country, tauranga for instance uses Ultrafast Fiber, Auckland uses Chorus, Christchurch uses enable. (note there may be more than one fiber provider in those areas mentioned I've just named one)

the ISP needs to have a deal with the local fiber company to be able to provide services over the fiber companies network. in your case the 2 you mentioned have deals, slingshot doesn't.

They are probably working on it but how long that will take only they will know.

I have been patiently waiting for slingshot to work with UFF but my patience is starting to wear out. Myrepublic is looking very tempting right now.

to you it may be a simple thing but for slingshot and UFF its a business deal that cant just be rushed

Do you know if myrepublic has a deal with UFF?

Yeah, Myrepublic, Spark, Orcon, and Callplus all run on UFF now. Plus a few of the smaller players as well.
