With the news of the imminent release of the Nexus 6 overseas and your history of supporting Nexus handsets I am ever hopeful your team can see the potential in adding this device to your lineup

Please consider stocking both the 32 & 64gb versions or even just the 64gb version. I am sure the target market will not mind the added cost, I for one will be lining up for a 64gb n6 if it becomes an option

I have a Nexus 5 and LOVE it, but I have no interest in the Nexus 6.

For me, it's too big, and at US$649 for the 32GB from Google, it's not cheap.

Considering 2degrees are selling the Nexus 5 and a noticeable premium over the converted cost direct from Google, I would expect the 32GB version to be around the $900-950 mark from a carrier. Not a cheap phone.

I am seeing many N5 owners today saying they have no interest in the N6, and very few who do. Will be interesting to see if the carriers deem it worth while to sell at all.

That would put it quite a bit cheaper than a note 4 which one could argue is its closest competitor

$899 would be an acceptable price point for such a device surely

Thousand or below would be reasonable in this marketplace as all large high spec phones are all ~$1200

Interesting that Google did not announce that the 6 is water resistant... that detail on Moto's website.

I am tempted, dropped my Nexus 5 about 2 weeks ago and the screen cracked pretty badly. $299 to get it replaced? Don't think so

The general opinion of overseas blogs is that it's too expensive to succeed.  I suspect if the N5 was anything to go by it will be NZ$ 1100 via a carrier.  The fact that all the US carriers are selling it subsidized points to the higher  unlocked price. In the US people are so used to subsidized phones that they will think that $199 and $80 / month is cheap..

Keeping some perspective, Google sold the N4 & N5 dirt cheap, it was comparable to top shelf handsets at nearly half the price,at the time people questioned how Google could sell it so cheaply and now (probably) the same people are condemning the N6 as being too expensive :P

Anywhere else in the world the N5 sat a lot closer to the competition pricewise so it would stand to reason the N6 would be close in price to its nearest competitors being a i guess predominantly the Note 4. Arguably the Note 4 has slightly better specs but the pure android experience rates highly in my books, consistent and timely updates is something i value.

the N4, 5 , 7(2012), 7(2013), 10 will all be getting the lollipop update so why bother buying a newer model just to get android 5.0

There is speculation that it's actually the final android images for the Nexus 5 and 7 that are going to drop in the next 24 hours, not another developer preview.

If that's true - I hope I can have Lolipop on my N5 before the weekend is out.

Don't forget the M7 One, moto g, moto x to that list

As for reasons to buy N6, hardware :P - 6" QuadHD, fast processor, 3gb ram, 13MP camera, 4k video recording, 24hr (claimed) battery life, turbo charging capability, aluminium body, twin front facing speakers
