Currently I'm on telecom vdsl. I'm thinking about switching to slingshot. I want to go naked and port my landline number to iTalk because I don't use landline much. Their rep told me that they will send me a after market modem like "energy import" vdsl modem. I'm afraid it's useless.
I want to use my telecom vdsl modem with slingshot network. Is it possible? Are there a lot of changes required in the modem configuration? Will the slingshot tech people help me set up my telecom vdsl for slingshot network??
I wonder if anybody has done this yet.

Yes its possible.

Just ensure the correct credentials are set in the VDSL modem.

If unsure, just login to the admin controls on the slingshot modem.
Copy the credentials / settings to the telecom supplied modem and you should be fine.

EDIT:

The slingshot provided modem / router / AP has had a mixed response.
For myself it wasnt good. Others have had no issue.

Mind you, it has had several firmware updates since I started using it.

Slingshot won't be able to help you setup Telecom modem because its a non-supported modem. They can give you the settings and your credentials that's about it.
