hi.
on the 10th my internet went down. dsl light on but internet light off. hnm.. so i call orcon "oh chorus are transfering you to a closer cabinet" "great!" i say. thank god too because for the last 6 months i have been getting 3mbps at best and sub 1mbps at worst. "so when will that be complete?"
"uhh the 12th sorry"
three days for an asid transfer what a joke.

so today is the day. i was happy at the very least i would be back online. even if the cabinet change didn't fix the speed issue. nope. no such luck. so i call Orcon and after an hour on the phone and 45 minutes for a callback i finally find out that chorus rescheduled the work order for the 16th! SEVEN days for an asid transfer.

so why am i posting here? because thanks to heroes like firetruck i have had more luck getting things done than trying to navigate tech 1 overseas.

by this point orcon owes me big time. i have put up with a year plus of technical problems with either very little done or excuses and apologies.

so by this point i think orcon should either pay out of pocket to get chorus to jumper my connection yesterday. or provide a temporary solution for the internet.

chorus not keeping their schedule is on YOUR head. since they don't talk to domestics. time provide internet srrvices orcon

I'm suprised they disconnected you on the UCLL equipment if the chorus install was delayed

It's not really an "ASID transfer", it's physical rejumpering at the cabinet. Out of the curiosity did you request the transfer or did Orcon? With the number of threads (and a couple of blog posts I've written on the issue) I'm surprised you persisted for so long on a UCLL connection when you were clearly cabinetised.

well being where i live and the fact that there was a cabinet literally across the road from me i had always assumed i was cabinetized. it wasn't until my speed started to degrade later this year (as well as being unable to stay connected to work) that i started really pushing orcon.
thats when i found out i wasn't on a cabinet connection this whole time. i just not convinced that it takes 7 days to prepare a port

and to answer the question. orcon suggested it after the continual ongoing technical issues i was having. and part of the process was that i was meant to change plan. now the plan change (and so i thought the cabinet move) was meant to happen a month and a half ago. i had even recieved the texts to say it was happening all that time ago.

but on the 10th i learn i was myteriously and without warning. being moved. and that it would be complete today. the 12th, so either they never moved me a month and a half ago (explains alot since my connection never improved) or they are moving me again and its taking 7 days and not 1 like last time

First of all you could help us by posting which cabinet you are on now and what cabinet you THINK you'll be moving too. Also modem stats and Orcon isn't exactly to blame. Other factors could of played into why it took so long that it was out of Orcon's control.
