Why must i enter a new contract for simply moving from a 30/10 ufb plan with phone to a 100/20 plan with no phone? (same price as far as i can tell) i have already been with orcon for over a year, how much could it possibly cost to provision that i must stay at least another 12 months? Seriously considering moving isp's. Can anyone from orcon help me switch plans or does policy override common sense?

Hi BronzeBlood,

I'm not from Orcon, but generally speaking here's some info that might help.

* waiving an exit fee for a current contract still valid by providing a new contract (renewal to cover the exit fee) if applicable.

Sure you may have been there 12 months in your books, but you need to ask before changing plans, "Am I on a contract currently", if so "When does it end and what are the conditions of it"

or

* The plan you want is a 'promotional limited offer', i.e. first 6 months with this new contract reduces the price from say $119 to $100.

If this was applicable I'm not quite sure (the Rep on the phone maybe new or from sales and not accounts trained to handle contracts being ended).
Infomercials are bad for this, if you call right now you get a 2nd one free or blah blah blah.

Hope you get a good outcome (plan), but not sure about timings since it's Xmas.

I think you'll find that if you're in contract and want a plan change then you'll need to re-sign. Whereas if you're out of contract and want a plan change its not a big deal.

In order to get the great prices we give you in is necessary to be able to forward-forecast network load etc, having contracts assists with that and hence is built in to the Orcon product pricing.
