So this morning I faced an PPPoE timeout error, I experienced this for about an hour before the internet went back up. In the fritzbox it says "Internet connection cleared" then "Timeout during PPP negotiation".

This has happened in the past before, does anyone know what causes this?

Had the same problem this morning as well.  Not sure what's happened to Snap but reliability of its network has gone to pieces.  Ever since I was switched to the 200/200 UFB plan my international connection speed has fallen into the gutter and no-one at Snap seems to want to help.

Interesting, so I wasn't the only one experiencing this. Yes, my downtime was between 6.08 to 6.29

Hopefully Snap is aware of this issue and will get it sorted soon.

Same thing for me this morning. Also not the first time this has happened recently (had the Snap UFB for over a year now but last few months the stability has been worse).

Hi All,

We saw an issue with Enable connections from 06:08 and was resolved by Enable at 06:29 30/12/2014 - services should have fully restored once Enable resolved the issue.

Enable have also just notified us that they plan to perform maintenance tomorrow between 1:00 and 2:00 31/12/2014 to further follow-up on the issues this morning, this might affect multiple ISP's - we will have more info on our Network Status page shortly.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused here.

Thanks,
TheRalph

Issues again this morning on Enable. PPPoE timeouts since 0129, kinda put's a dampner on streaming entertainment. Still down.

They did say there was going to be maintenance done on the network above - lets just assume they got the date a little wrong.

Assuming the date was wrong we're still down as at 0223. Have gone old fashioned with the radio for now.

Edit: As at 0226 noted status update titled 'Upper South Island' with the linked update saying issues in the Upper North Island...

Thanks for informing us about the situation, however it was also down again last night. Getting a bit annoyed that this keeps happening.

Hi

I had a fault on my line (attenuation up to 28, speed gone from 27/10 to 3/4) which the nice Chorus man fixed this morning - now I can't connect to the PPPoE server. I'm wondering if it might be the same issue. Did you get a resolution, aside from the "global" we are back up now from Snap?

Snap want me to try a new modem - Chorus can see my MAC address, but I can't authenticate either via my mac, or using the Vigor 130 as the PPPoE client.

'twas working, all be it slowly, last night :(

The error I'm getting from the Vigor is "Message [ PPPoE : No response from server side. ]". Sync is fine - back to normal speeds.
