Hey Guys,
When did you receive you Asus modem from my republic? I'm a week away from my fibre connection and it hasn't shown up yet.

The modem is couriered out to arrive on the day of the RFS date provided by the LFC - so theoretically, the date that the Chorus tech visits and completes your installation is the date that the router arrives - there are no modems on UFB.

Thanks for that, a friend had signed up with My Republic as well and his ASUS N56U router has turned up already even thought they haven't even scheduled in a install date to run the cables to his place.
Since mine hadn't turned up I didnt want to be sitting there with an ONT installed but no Router.

I signed up on Monday (Port 2 install, already have an ONT/etc). The N56U arrived yesterday. Don't know when they turn port two on, though...

The good news with My Republic is that any router will work without the need to configure to test. They're the only ISP using DHCP rather than a PPPoE Authentication. So yeah, borrow your mates one and plug it in. It will literally work out of the box via Ethernet immediately.

Great. PPPoE is really annoying imo

It might be "annoying" but PPP has lots and lots of advantages, hence the reason it's so widespread.
