Here's a gnarly question for the 2degrees geeks. How does one purchase an Aussie datapack for an iPad? Of course, it's a trivial task on an iPhone -- just send a text to 288. But texting on an iPad requires using the 2degrees text app on the SIM, and it doesn't appear to accept the text "buy AUS500MB" sent to 288. The pre-paid amount on my iPad wasn't reduced after sending a few of these texts, anyway. (Although I can text my iPhone from my iPad).

A quick call to 2degrees revealed the following:

1. The help desk person wasn't familiar with what an Aussie datapack is.

2. She wasn't able to purchase the Aussie pack for me because she wasn't able to do this on her computer.

3, After I spluttered with indignation, she WAS able to purchase a datapack for me (after consulting someone else).

4. If I want to buy another Aussie datapack in Asutralia, I will need to do this online. Of course, you can't do this online!

5. OK, so I'll need to call 2degrees in NZ from Australia, pay the international rate, and spend another 10-15 minutes explalining what an Aussie datapack is, and why I want to purchase one.

I know there is a sticky with this information on this forum. Maybe the sticky needs updating.
