Just wondering, I might be going to Tauranga in a few weeks for the weekend, and I would like to know can i still access my router remotely to keep an eye on calling and home network things?

yes

for either modem you will need to know your WAN IP
so if you are accessing using HTTP then put in the your browser WANIP:portnumber

Managerment > Access Control > Services Control, enable access from WAN, prob HTTP to keep it simple

OK I'm going to jump in.

1. Don't do this. Please, I am begging you. It's a bad idea. Trust me on this one.

2. Just don't.

3. If you really must, please set the port to a high port (over 20000) which is less likely to be scanned AND change the password to something very strong.

If you really want to do this I recommend setting up an RDP into a computer and checking it that way. More secure and will need 0 port forwarding or anything fiddling at the modem/router.

Guys, my password have not been able to be hacked in years. I do anywhere between 10 to 40 characters for a password, and no 2 are the same.

Any password can be decoded, doesn't matter if it's 10-40 characters someone smart enough will find out.

Also routers are more common to have security exploits to allow access.

That doesn't really make it any better for yourself.

I'm not completely stupid you know. After all no one has been able to hack my network yet, not even though wifi, with keeping up with my security practices. Its mainly the stupid people that get hacked cause they are not doing decent enough job of protecting themselves online.
