hi guys, just wanted to ask if people here are experiencing the same problem.

From time to time, the Netflix app on Roku, fire tv, my phone and PS3 can't play the title I select. I have no problems running Netflix on my computer but the other "more convenient" venues occationally wont work unless I restart my router.

I can get to a title selection screen and it will load to around 25% and then an error message would pop up. Amazon and hulu plus don't have this problem though.

I have blocked the following DNS

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Is there something I missed?

Hi :-)

I work in the Callplus engineering team, (ignore the Orcon badge - I need to get it changed).

have you always blocked those DNS's, or is that something new?

You shouldn't need to block the DNS on our system, its smart enough to work around that for you. Can you remove the blocks and see how that goes for you?

Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a go.

I just blocked those as there was an instruction on the slingshot website

"In order for a Roku Stick to work, you will also need to block 8.8.8.8/32. "

http://help.slingshot.co.nz/display/public/HELP/Setting+up+a+Roku+Stick;jsessionid=63C2DD24752A860713F0008148871AA5

the others were the other DNS's we needed to block for Roku to work ( allegedly)

is your system smart enough to get around hard coded google DNS usage in the app?
