I can receive texts anything up to 2 hours after being sent.
Phone is a Huawei G730.
My number is carried over from Telecom.

Can anyone suggest what may be the problem.

Are you in a bad coverage area perhaps?

There are lots of possible reasons. Have you read the sticky?

freitasm was right.

There is no 2degrees coverage where I am and I discover 2degrees then piggybacks off Vodafone and their coverage is minimal.
I understand I can have my phone unlocked to work on Spark which has full coverage.

Thankyou all for your suggestions.

Hmmm? Wherever I look it doesn't say 850 MHz WCDMA supported on this handset. I don't think it will work on Spark even if unlocked.

The official site says NO.

gsmarena.com G730 phone specs says: 3G Bands HSDPA 900/2100


Spark says they operate: 3G (HSPA+) 850 - 2100


Are these 2 values not quite the same?

2100 is infill for high density areas like cities, 850/900 are the primary long range (and generally rural) frequencies, and 50MHz is a big difference.

Spark is 850MHz. Do not rely on 2100 MHz on Spark as there is no guarantee of where you will find it.

Also GSM Arena is not always 100% accurate. The official site I linked says it is 900/2100 which makes more sense if this is a Vodafone/2degrees handset.
