Hello, can someone confirm the UFB modem that comes with Orcon plans is the Netcom NF4V? (http://www.netcommwireless.com/product/vdsl/nf4v)

Looking at the specifications of this modem it doesn't support both 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi.  Is there a modem Orcon can supply that does?

Yes it is an NF4V but Orcon uses custom firmware.

No Orcon does not currently supply a 5GHz-capable modem except on Gigatown Plans.

ok thanks for your reply

I doubt there will be any real-world speed difference when connected with the 5ghz range anyway but it would have been nice to have this capability

There is however a large speed improvement over WAN connected devices when using the 5ghz range, so hopefully a 5ghz capable router is made available at some point...

Netcomm have the NF8AC which is 5Ghz AC capable and probably one of the best all round routers at present for the price. There is a voice version of this due out in the very near future which I'd expect Orcon to be interested in.
