Any way to get the fritzbox to auto reboot, say at 6pm everyday?

I'm on the UFB settings, and the auto reboot option seems to have gone from the settings (maybe that was when i was on vdsl and specific to that).

Maybe a strange question.. but WHY?

My UFB Router only needs a reboot when I upgrade the firmware on it. Other than that I see no reason to reboot it (and it doesn't)

IIRC the 'autoreboot' in the Fritz is actually for the DSL itself not the whole device.

Why do you need to reboot so often?

Correct for the 7340...   FRITZ!OS 06.06

  • Internet Connection Maintain permanently (recommended for flat rates)
  • Delay disconnection by provider to the period between  *.*
  • Clear idle connection (recommended for time- or usage-based rates) Clear automatically after xxx seconds

Could be different in the later model Fritz's though

Edit: formatting and added Fritz OS version

in my case, i was basing it off the 7390, 7360 should be about the same.

Unsure of a later OS version though, i held mine back.

As mentioned, a $5 mechanical timer from The Warehouse?

He he, was hoping for a more elegant solution.

The reason is that our connection has been subject to 3 DDOS attacks, can't figure out exactly why.

A simple reboot every day will help to mitigate this (i hope) given the timing of previous attacks.

I've reinstalled the OS on one of my machines, put a vpn onto another --snap reckon the kids online gameplay may have been annoying someone so I've blocked the kids from minecraft for a while .

Changing the ip address at 6pm everyday might help too -- there are no negative consequences for doing this so why not.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Ouch true, that sucks!

Is there any way to access the ONT? Maybe there is a PPPoE setting like the xDSL option to re-synch the fiber connection...
