So after just over 2 years since I opened the original ticket Orcon finally support rDNS delegation on their IPv6 ranges! While they have supported IPv6 for a number of years, they have never managed to support delegation (or even static PTR records). It looks like they have now switched to Amazon route 53 to provide this and in a number of days they have been able to make this work.

For those that don't know, every IP address can have a "hostname" associated with it (in a record known as a PTR). This is vital for services like email which check if a hostname exists as part of anti-spam. We had been having major issues for the last couple of years with Gmail who are IPv6 enabled and were checking our email server's PTR record just to find it didn't exist. This is now working.
