Curious what people would use this for. Downloading from overseas probably won't go any faster due to TCP limitations. Multiple netflix HD streams if served from NZ could use it.

I can tap out 130Mbit, reckon I could do 200 as well :) Also, I share my connection with 3 other people so the faster the better...

Essentially this. My 20Mbps VDSL is great for a couple people, but 6? Hell no, it sucks.

Exactly, I can easily max out the 100Mbit connection, 200 would be sweet.

Basically at this point it is a race for me between Big Pipe coming to Wellington and Orcon offering 200Mbit.

Can you hit 100/130Mbps with a torrent or a single download?

Both, torrents are easier for obvious reasons but many of the major download websites have no issues maxing out my 100Mbit

It's not about how fast you can do one thing.  It's about how many things you can do at once.

Exactly, I have actually found in general (although it could be my imagination) that even when i had 30Mbit fiber it seemed to be far more tolerant of many simultaneous uses/connections than my equivalent speed ADSL connection.

Never done it with a torrent, but I don't use them much anyway. I often hit max when downloading from Steam or Blizzard and the like, and I use a download manager so generally hit max when downloading from various places. It is no where near as hard as you seem to think :)

Hi all,

We're always looking at different options, so we're definitely keeping an eye on this. In the short term though, we have no plans to launch a 200Mbps Fibre plan.

Cheers,

Cam

So much for the line that was in your signup process when I signed up saying 200Mbps coming soon or being looked into.
