Hey there. When we first got Flip I noticed a problem where I couldn't log into freenom.com. I passed it off as it being a freenom issue.

Now that I have registered my VPS with ovh I have the same problem. I can't stay logged into their panel!

Weirdly I found that every time I load a website, I have a different IP!! WTF?

For example, I visit my own website: http://getmyip.wapka.mobi/index.xhtml it shows 103.224.130.16

I visit https://www.speedtest.net/ and it shows 103.224.130.15

I ask Google and it shows 103.224.130.17

Anyone have any ideas?

I use a Huawei HG556a running the latest firmware. With a Flip naked unlimited ADSL connection.

Do they use CG-NAT? What IP does your router report?

Could be they are using different IP addresses on outbound connections through CG-NAT. Perhaps try IPv6 if they offer it?

Yep sounds like a CGNAT problem here.

Hey there. They don't support IPV6. And the router reports the IP 100.67.141.115 but that's a private IP address.

So they don't support public/static IPs according to their website and the fact that they don't support IPv6 (which really there is no technical reason why not while CG-NAT is understandable) means you are pretty stuck. Probably best to leave them.

Flip uses CG-NAT

Most websites don't care if your ip address changes, they use cookie/browser based authentication. Like on your phone if you're hopping between mobile data and wifi you shouldn't be logged out.

Freenom and OVH are probably doing something weird where they do care about your ip address.
