For about a week now from BBC iplayer have been getting "This Content doesn't seem to me working. Try Again" on everything and repeated to ever.

Is it just here, or the same for everyone? Or has Global mode changed/stopped ?

Thanks.

BBC iPlayer is working fine for me with UnoTelly.  We streamed almost 4 hours of HD content tonight without any problems before it crapped out at 9:30pm.  Never mind, we will watch some more tomorrow.

A while ago we had to turn global mode off by default because it was causing some problems for Netflix NZ.  Suggest you log in to My Orcon and ensure it's turned on (you need to reboot your modem for it to take effect, I suggest waiting a few minutes after changing it in My Orcon before doing so)

Global Mode is on (I reset after the emailto do so) but can I test it on something else to be sure ?
The message from BBC isn't saying we're in the wrong area. Someone in the UK  told there were problems with the HD stream
but the SD one was OK.  I don't know which we get, or if it's possible to change.

What is UnoTelly ?  I'm just using Firefox but it's always worked until now.

Check the sticky post in the Online Streaming subforum for geo-blocked content and you will see what is UnoTelly.

So I've had issues for about a week with iPlayer and Orcon Global mode. HLS streams work but FLV streams don't.

Just had an email from Orcon saying that they can't/won't resolve the issue as it involves a server/service outside of their network.

Anyone else here got GlobalMode issues with orcon?

Here's the original message from Orcon support regarding my issues. Not sure how I'm supposed to approach the BBC regarding an issue with Global Mode.

Thank you for your response.

We have consulted our Level 2 team regarding your concern and they were not able to find any fault from the Global mode's settings or your internet connection. Unfortunately, as the site that you are trying to access is not from Orcon and has its own servers, you will need to contact their support group to check for any possible issues on their end as well.

I hope this information was helpful and if you have any other queries please do not hesitate to email me back or call me on the number below.

I just installed unoTelly with the 8 day trial and BBC iplayer still report  " This content doesn't...  try again".   Seems to suggest it's them and not Orcon.
From reading around on the Online Streaming subforum lots of folk are having the same issue.  And that it works on HD and not SD.  You change this in settings but I can't find settings on the bbc iplayer site. Anyone know ?  Thanks.

I dont use orcon - I use Vodafone and also just switched to dns4me (from unotelly) a week ago.

Have found that while BBC iplayer works on the amazon fire TV and web browser the get_iplayer app is now failing to download all but the lowest quality video streams.

This app tries various levels of picture quality dropping from High to low to see if any work.
It displays errors on all but the lower quality streams - the error code it displays tends to indicate the CDN streams can not be opened.

The other reports of that sort of error on their support forums suggest it could be geo blocking or network reconfig issues from the BBC.

PS Switched back to unotelly and it still produces the same sort of errors as above.

Would suspect maybe the problems are not all orcon/global mode perhaps?

Yes, getting similar issues.

Can't access iPlayer on PC based web browsers, get the same message as you, although can still download content for watching in PC stand alone iPlayer. Able to access iPlayer on iPad both via App and web browsers. Seems only to be a PC web based issue???????

Nope, not for me.  Watching on a PC using Firefox via UnoTelly.  Have been streaming in HD for the last hour or so with no buffering at all.

Before you click the Magenta coloured Play button, click 'Watch in HD' (below the preview window).  If the HD link doesn't appear, that particular programme is only available in SD.

Ah, that may be it.  I've never seen it!   But things may be improving - the program I wanted (1945 The Savge Peace) plays once in 3 tries.

The note about downloading and watching later on a PC.  How's that done ?

Good to hear it finally worked for you.

To download, you need to install the iPlayer Downloader which is available somewhere on the BBC website.  Then chose the 'Download' link which appears just above the 'Watch in HD' link.  Then you get asked whether you want to download in HD or SD and away you go.

Could you send a screenshot of the links (HD and Download) ?  I can't see either of them on anything. Installed the downloader
and that didn't complain... says 'Visit the iplayer site to download" which I did.  But can't see anything different (should I?)
