I signed up with Snap a while back. I had 80GB VDSL + Home Phone Basic + All you can eat YouTube, on Open term

I see that I can save around $15/month by moving to the new 80GB plan + Phone on Open term and ditching the YouTube addon.

But all the packages seem to only have the Home Phone Plus option.

I live in Christchurch, and having the old Home Phone Basic option was actually part of my 'Earthquake Emergency Kit' because the POTS line could keep working in the case of a power outage.

Does anyone know if the Home Phone Plus still uses POTS? Judging by the feature list and the fact it can't be used for alarms, I would think not.

As an aside, there was initially some confusion about BYO VDSL modems, has that been cleared up yet? I recently purchased a $250 VDSL box and I'd be less than impressed if 2D attempted to force a new device on me.

Plus is VoIP, Basic is POTS.
