Anyone else experiencing problems with connectivity to the US?

Have had several instances today and tonight where I have completely lost connection to the US.

Seems to stop at 69.7.69.111.static.snap.net.nz when I have been trying traceroutes.

I've seen a few comments in recent nights from people talking about connectivity and weird routing out of NZ with a few different ISPs

I lost connection to Steam for a few minutes last night. Checked on Reddit, two other people in NZ were also reporting it.

I've had this randomly over the last few weeks, normally in the evening. Happened last night too.

IPv4 or IPv6?

I see no issues what so ever via IPv6...

I don't use Facebook all that much but when I have lately I have noticed the page doesn't load properly (chat sidebar does not load at all), is that related to this issue I'm not sure.

IPv4 seems to work fine too...

Not sure what you mean by " Fritzbox breaks when you enable ipv6..."  IPv6 works perfect on my fritzbox and has done for the last few years.

IPv6 caused a lot of disconnections for me. Snap support recommends turning it off, and have done for many others.
At the time, once it was off I had no more issues.

Edit: FYI in cause there is any doubt about the quality of my dsl link. I am completely maxing out the allowable 70;

Receive Direction Send Direction Max. DSLAM throughput kbit/s 70000 10360 Min. DSLAM throughput kbit/s 360 360 Attainable data rate kbit/s 74996 37128 Current throughput kbit/s 70000 10344

The issues with Snap's IPv6 have been largely resolved as of several months ago. But I was one of the lucky ones whom never had issues with it, that is up until I got a static v6 range but that was resolved in a manor of days.

I'm on fiber so could be using different routes from you however I have had an extended ping running to FB for the last 30 mins (via IPv4). It has an average ping time of 218ms

Good to know. They should tell their customers.
Thanks :)

Yea... umm... I'm sure it was mentioned here (several times) at the time.

Something I just realized that could be helpful to this thread is I have services in the US that connect to my home server and are running 24/7, there has not been any issues with connectivity to the US for them what so ever.
I guess, like the IPv6 issues, I'm one of the lucky ones that are not affected by this issue.

former snap customer here with 200/200Mbit fibre, and yeah service over the last few months since 2Degrees took over is total rubbish. Packet loss of 5-12% and sometimes all out unreachable.

Support is useless as expected. They have chorus run tests on the fibre and it's fine so they ignore the problem. I've run traceroutes over 24h+ long periods and see drops almost always from *.ape.nzix.net.

Most often snap1 or vocus/akama1 which appear to be their caching setup. Support is clueless every single time I try and bring this up and tell me to email traceroutes, which I've done. Then they email me a week later and say "are you still having problems, no faults found on your chrous line check."

I'm paying a very good deal for this package and rubbish service. Why did snap have to sell out. >:(
