Something doesn't seem right with MyRepublic.
I'm on the MyRepublic gigabit plan in Dunedin with a fixed IP address and using HFS ~ Http File Server to share some very large hubble images (eg., heic1206a.tif, 643MB, 20323x16259 res image), with a colleague down here who is also on MyRepublic gigabit fibre.
He is only able to download from me at 1-2MB/sec. If he downloads with multiple connections that gets up to 5-MB/sec. Testing from a machine on the local network is also vastly faster. If I use speedtest.net I get download speeds of up to 600Mb/s down and 400MB/s up, so again, not an issue with equipment at my end.
This isn't a new issue, I noticed the same problem accessing files from home when I was in China and Japan last month.
Friends on fibre with other ISP's are getting massively faster uploads.
MyRepublic says no rate limiting so perhaps something is misconfigured at their end??
What are other peoples experiences?
Cheers,
Mark
