Hi Guys

Apologies if this is asked somewhere else but I cannot seem to find the info anywhere.

2Degrees gave me a Fritz!Box 7490 which came setup as my main router. Fritz!box is plugged directly into the ONT. It works well but I actually would rather like to use my previous DD-WRT Linksys E3000 Router as my main device instead. Fritz!Box just does not cut it for me.

Can anybody please direct me to where I can obtain the PPP Encapsulation setting etc? Also saw somewhere that I may need to change some vlan settings?

Any ideas. Or bigger question, will it work without the Fritz!Box?

Cheers

You need to run PPPoE on VLAN10 on the WAN interface. Snap gave me the PPPoE username/password when we signed up - if you don't have it then you need to ask them.

Thanks for the info

Yes, got the username/password as its already saved into the FritzBox.

I came across this thread which is quiet a bit of help.

I will have a play tonight and see if I can get it to work.

If you are not using 2D VOIP for your phone, then DD-WRT should work just fine.  I am using my Ubiqiti EdgeRouter Lite as my main router - it has no problems connecting on PPPoE over VLAN 10.  The username and password required are the same ones used to login to the the 2D web site.

I have also managed to set up my FritzBox 7390 behind my ERLite and got it to do 2D VOIP, but the way I am doing it requires a second router (my spare ERLite) between the main router and the 7390.

Hey guys, will soon be in the same situation.

So is there no way to use another router than the Fritzbox if I am gonna use 2Degrees VOIP (2degrees Home Phone Plus)?

Sure can - Just call into the call centre to get the details of server/username etc.

Would that work using normal POTS phone? (where do I plug it?)

2degrees do SIP, Fritzbox has SIP capability.

You'll need to plug your POTS phone into an ATA. The FritzBox has one built in or you can buy another one.

Depending on what model fritz you have, there is one or two ata ports, or as stated, procure a cisco ata or similar device.
