Hooray, 2degrees perks has bought what we all wanted to the table - more data!

This applies to $19 Combo Prepaid subscribers

The short version is, the longer you're a customer and had a carryover combo, the more data you get. Up to a max of 9 renews which tops out at 500mb - Excellent.

Thanks 2degrees team, you've successfully locked in a customer that was considering changing.

Yeah, this is good, pity it's not backdated though! But really, they should have just increased the base allowance. I understand why they did this instead (lock people in), but it's not good for competition. Either way, looking forward to my extra 500MB next top-up.

Anyone know if the bonus data carries over? Can't see anything to the contrary.

I struggle to use the 500MB I get as part of the pack (as well as most of the minutes) but for some this will be very good and 2D gets a big thumbs up

Didn't 2 Degrees stress in their advertising how those evil Telcos try to trick you by having complicated plans?

2D have to make money as well. A telco shouldn't be treated any differently than your power company.

You're a bit damned if you do, damned if you don't. Some people insist they are special and unique and want everything tweaked just for them. Then they complain it's too complicated. :-)

It's been, what, 6 years since we launched?  All things considered I think we've managed to strike a reasonable balance between simplicity and having something for everyone, and we're always trying to do better.

This is a loyalty addon not a component of the plan so struggle to see it as complicated

2D have simplified my life, $49/mth and I can talk/text as much as i want, I have 2.5gb of data which I can share over a bunch of devices at no extra cost, and whatever i dont use gets carried over into the new period. Likewise I pay $79/mth for broadband and that's all i have to worry about

But... I did enjoy the old loyalty game thing in MyTwoDegrees, the new perks system seem to be more geared around prepay then postpay customers, I'd like the opportunity to gain free data as it is a commodity that you can never have enough of #TelcoGold

Almost makes me want to ditch my on account and go back to prepay....

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

It is a component of the plan, if you drop the plan for more than the allowed period you lose your loyalty bonus.

Also it has value so customers will factor it in to their purchasing decision.

Anybody know if anything similar is available for On Account?
Might drop my On Account altogether if there's no equal deals available.

Thanks 2D!
