From this morning I've not been able to access google.co.nz, google.com and stuff.co.nz via my Orcon ADSL connection. There may be other sites I can't access but these are the ones I've identified so far. Most others work ok (nzherald.co.nz, reddit.com - phew!, trademe.co.nz etc etc - so doesn't appear to be national/international specific). I've spoken with someone in their call centre who agreed to flag it to level 2 support after I advised what I've done to test for a cause. Was told I should hear back from them within 3 days (really 3 days!), have hear. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had experienced any Orcon specific DNS or routing issues today. Below are the tests I've tried:
- Websites above won't load
- Ping from laptop, Traceroute from laptop (using Orcon DNS)
- Flush DNS cache on laptop and retry
- Double and triple check sites are fine (downforeveryonebutme, DNS check, Spark mobile check) - all fine outside of my Orcon connection
- Ping from router direct (via web based network tools)
- Restart router (black genius modem)
- Ping from router direct
- Switch router DNS from automatic to Orcon IPs (as provided by call center)
- Ping from router direct

Clearly some sort of routing issue - but unsure if just specific to my connection or if anyone else is experiencing.
