Biglegs: I have a zyxel, not a Fritz, so doesn't have the level of reporting, and besides it's a pain to log into to monitor. It's just always worked. I'm just making the observation this is appears more than a co-incidence, that it happened with the change of plan. That's the only factor that's new.
Biglegs: I'm thinking there is more than 2 degrees are letting on. I had a perfectly stable 45Mbps+ connection. I live in a settled area, i.e. not many houses, building going on etc. Moved over to the new plans (and why wouldn't you? - I saved $20) and now my speeds have plummeted to 18Mbps.

2 degrees VDSL here - I get 65Mbps...so no cap :)
naggyman: The reference of 'up to 30Mb/s' is on UFB. You can pay for the upgrade in speed for UFB.
I don't believe there is a cap on VDSL, I may be wrong.
