So I've been told my 2Degrees that the only option I have at my house is ADSL (Not even ADSL2) and my question is, is it possible to improve on this?
I've just moved house from where I had fibre to a house which only has copper lines. When I first set up my modem I was getting roughly 0.20Mbps down and 0.1Mbps up which I assumed was a matter of the alarm and bad wiring in my house, so I installed a Master Filter/Splitter with Cat5e all the way from the demarc point to my modem and am now seeing (what seems to be so far) a solid connection of 10Mbps down and almost 1Mbps up.
I'm very pleased with the speed increase, but even after the improvement I'm currently paying $40/month MORE to have an internet connection 3x slower than what I had previously (30/10 fibre) and it really grinds me thinking of this.
Now that I have a master filter/splitter, is it likely 2Degrees can trial a VDSL connection or am I stuck waiting for Fibre middle of next year? Or are there any other options?
Thanks in advance for any advice. Please let me know if I've missed any important details.
