Early 2014 I signed up to snap broadband, they were a good ISP. Unfortunately snap was acquired by 2degrees, I was made a customer of 2degrees without my consent.

I have a data cap, though usage between 1am and 7am is uncapped, until today everything was fine. Yesterday I purchased GTA 5 from steam. I decided to download it overnight when usage was uncapped. Unfortunately when I woke this morning I was shocked to find that the data was counted towards my data cap.

I rang 2degrees told them about what had happened, they told me that I had downloaded the game outside the uncapped period. They are wrong. They won't do anything about their f'up. So I will have to heavily reduce my web usage for this month because of 2degrees's  failure. As you can understand this pisses me off. They stuffed up and refuse to take responsibility, so I the paying customer is being screwed over.

I use an app in my browser that monitors my data usage before last night the app showed how much data usage fell in the uncapped period, So I assume that nights are now no-longer uncapped for no clear reason.

Luckily my contract with 2 degrees ends this month, so I can happily abandon this crooked company.

Why not just get a unlimited connection and never having to worry about blowing a usage cap.

I have changed the subject on this thread. Please think twice before posting things like that.

Is there anything preventing you to switching plans now to avoid any surcharges?

This makes no sense...

1) The 2degrees change was just that - Snap was bought by 2degrees but Snap does still exist, just under 2degrees now.
2) Their unlimited plans are cheap and any customer can freely switch to them.
3) Why on earth would you switch ISP's over something this small? It just sounds like you're bashing 2degrees for no real reason.

With the time you've wasted creating threads on here, the time you've spent worrying about your cap etc just switch to Unlimited. You can do it by either phoning 2degrees or switching in your online portal.

He says he downloaded during unmetered period but they metered it. When asked, 2degrees refused to fix this error.

That, seems to be a valid reason .

It seems to already be discussing this same issue.
