Dear All,

 

I just spend $640 for this router DSL-4320L, part of the reason is it advertised it can work with NZ UFB which means it can replace the router shipped by ISP, in my case, Orcon white genius.

 

I have followed the instruction in the sticky post to extract the PPP and SIP password but I had no luck to make it work with Taipan, DSL-4320L.

 

Taipan has very simple user interface and to me, seems like it is missing lots of the the settings.

 

Has anyone happen to have that router and make it work with ORCON 200mb/200mb UFB plan?

 

I have tried all the different configurations with Taipan, Residential Gateway, with PPPOE.

 

None of them worked.

 

By the way, after I extract the password, do I have to decode it?

Currently, I only use it as an Access point which is a waste to me.

Orcon UFB is DHCP and uses VLAN 10 on the WAN.

 

Make sure you turn ipv6 on too (coming soon to UFB).

Thanks for replying.

 

I have tried that too with Mac address extracted from NF4V and clone it in the DSL-4320L.

 

And setup VLAN id of 10 and VLAN priority of 0.

 

 

 

No luck at all....

 

 

 

I am not even sure if that fancy expensive router can work with Orcon's UFB now. Hope anyone can confirm it.

Orcon only allow the genius or NetComm routers to connect to their network. They use the serial number and MAC numbers of the router for the connection. If they don't match your account, it won't connect.
That's how I understand it.

It wasn't that case before, I used custom router with their 100/50 UFB plan before. 

 

Maybe it is changed for the white genius. If that is the case, maybe it is the time to switch ISP

 

 

 

Or enable the bridging for NF4V.

The DHCP protocol doesn't allow for user and password, so if you are putting username passwords in then its not using DHCP.

 

 

 

The configuration is

 

DHCP on the WAN

 

VLAN 10 (802.1Q)

 

QOS 0 (802.1P)

 

 

 

No other configuration is required for the WAN side

The DHCP protocol doesn't allow for user and password, so if you are putting username passwords in then its not using DHCP.   The configuration is DHCP on the WAN VLAN 10 (802.1Q) QOS 0 (802.1P)   No other configuration is required for the WAN side    
  Thanks so much. Then it might be the router's problem now. Still not sure if Orcon has any other mechanisms in place to prevent us replacing the nf4v.

Just let you know, that might be correct. I have tried every possible ways to replace the White genius, it is no luck. I think with their latest plan 200mb/200mb

 

 

 

They have totally different setup than other plans. I was able to replace their router with old 100/50 plan.

Serial Numbers and mac addresses are only used for our TR69 platform for CPE management. We don't block unknown modems from connecting. (even on the new plans)

So I don't need to clone the Mac address from NF4V? so I can just use the original mac address of the Dlink router? 

 

 

 

The D-Link router has very simple interface, I will upload some screenshots later.

 

I dont want to just use that fancy router as an access point that is why I tried so hard to get it working.

In that case, in the sticky post, there are instructions of how to use Telnet to extract the password and mac address.

 

Why all that trouble if none of those is needed/used?

For PPPoE (DSL customers) - they require passwords still (for the time being)

 

 

 

The sticky is incorrect around MAC address requirements.
