This is the modem supplied by Ircon for fibre usage.

 

On the box for this model it says VDSL/ASDL/WAN Up to 100 Mbit/s for every connection.
How then can it go any transfer anything at speeds faster than 100 Mbit/s ?

 

It does give a higher spec for wireless, but what if you have a wired LAN?

the box is a bit silly.  the lan ports are gigabit and we know it can atleast handle 200/200 on the wan, likely alot more than that on the wan as well.

I didn't know Orcon (Ircon?) was supplying Fritzboxs.... they're definitely gigE though, if they are.

Thanks  (typo with "Ircon"). Looking more closely at small print on the back of the box it says 4x gigabit ethernet (10/100/1000 Base-T).

The Fritzboxs were supplied to customers on Gigatown. We have had customers receiving > 900mbit on this service, so the box is very capable.

 

 

 

AC wireless from memory, but with wireless your mileage will vary. LAN is the way to go if you want reliable speeds.

I am using a 2degrees Fritz!Box 7490 on a gigabit fribe connection (1Gbps up and down) and can confirm it works just fine.

Is it echoee for you or the caller?  This has been quite bad , on and off, with Orcom VDSL since day one  and just

 

wondering if fibre might be any better ?

Been using Orcon fibre voip since Aug 2012 and had no echo problems.

I am using the same cable I had before. Sure, it would be nice to replace them all but not something I want to do now. Also using lots of WiFi 5GHz and getting 400 - 500 Mbps on this.
