Hi, this is a curious question and not a grumble or gripe.

I was in Tutukaka (30 minutes north of Whangerie) on the weekend and there was strong 2Degrees native 3G there, but no native 2G.

This did not seem to be VF 3G, as my phone showed that separately when doing a network search, along with VF 2G.

I note that on the cell tower map, elsewhere on the Geekzone forums there is no marked 2Degrees cell site, so what I received was possibly a brand new site.

The 2Degrees website coverage shows strong 2 and 3G, but it doesn't really reveal weather that is native 2Degrees or Roaming VF coverage.

My question is, is the lack of 2G simply because they haven't switched it on yet, or are 2Degrees changing tact and forgoing 2G on new builds in the same way Spark does?
