MODEM:-  NF4V

PLAN:- Fibre

Been struggling with echo over my phone. Doesn't happen all the time. Just tried to call Eset and they were experiencing echo at their end. But as soon as I called slingshot, no problemmmm...typical.

Today I called slingshot, and had to make sure that Enable Echo Cancellation was ticked under Voice modem settings. It wasn't we ticked it. I thought all was well.

That's when I called Eset. They are getting the echo at their end. Its either me or the person on the other line.

Anyway how can I get this issue resolved? Have new modem/phone (standard phone no power cord needed). Been struggling with this issue for months now.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a different phone? Echo is created when audio from the speaker goes back into the mic creating a loop - and can be controlled by gain. Normally it's dodgy phones that cause it.

2 days over the phone/net with Netcomm, just made a few calls, so far no echo. Looks like they had to change a lot of settings. Modem wasn't configured when I got it.

All the better reason to support a RSP that auto provisions hardware. It's 2016 - there should be no reason why and end user should have to do this because there are probably around 20 VoIP settings that need to be set on these to make them work with most soft switches.

Modem:- nf4v

oh faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrr.......k   yell

I thought the whole world had abandoned me as I was getting no calls from no one.

But while on fb, I was getting spammed by my family to answer my phone as they were calling me.

Does anyone know what I have to do to enable the phone to ring in the modem???

Seems my ISP have unchecked that feature. Used another phone, that rings.

My recommendation would be to move to an RSP who offers a fully provisioned voice solution that they can guarantee the quality of.

Oh, finally got it sorted.... sigh, ..... something Voice >>> Sip Debug Setting >>>  Ingress / Degress  both settings were at 0. Mind you first line 1 isn't relevant, line 2 I had connected. Had to play around with the numbers while talking to netcomm and slingshot. Sorted now.

Egress and Ingress. Had to play around with the numbers while on the phone talking to netcomm and slingshot. Echo was on the receivers end.
