Hi,

From other threads I've read I understand that 2degrees can offer a block of public IPs on a UFB connection. Can anyone confirm:

- Is this still available

- How do I go about requesting it

- Cost for a /29 or /30

- Are all IPs routed i.e. is it possible to use the network and broadcast address for NAT. (I.e. a /30 would provide 4 usable IPs.)

And to preempt the question - I want multiple IP addresses for my lab at home. I've already NAT'd and reverse proxy'd my current single static up the 'whazoo'. You can do a lot with a single static but there are limits. The lab has ~50 VMs.

Chances are the answer is yes, but you'd be best messaging them directly either through email channels or twitter.

Could you possibly use IPv6? Then you would not need to pay for extra IP addresses as you can use as many millions as you like from the /56 that 2D is already providing you with.

I'm certainly keen to play with ip6 but it's no substitute for ip4 when testing real world scenarios. I'll follow up with 2degrees directly and see how I get on.

Yes, may need to be on a business connection, but just phone up or email support and ask. You're probably looking at $10-20 for a small block of IPs

These will be routed to your normal IP. Yes, all IPs can be used (network address + broadcast address)

I've recently had a discussion with their email support about a similar thing to this, and have not had any success.

Confirmed as has been stated elsewhere - cost is $20 for a /29 and $10 for a /30. Pretty good really. I was also very impressed with the 2d webchat support. Answered within 30 seconds and answered my questions immediately.

So on a /30 should be able to get 4 usable addresses using NAT, the guy at 2d seemed to think that would work but said they do not provide support for that. Fair enough.
