Currently with 2degress on a 100/50 plan with a Fritzbox 7390. Interested in changing to a 200/200 plan, but have a feeling the 7390 may not support it. Can anybody confirm?

Cheers!

WiFi or the actual Internet? The ONT can support the Internet speed

7390 does gigabit. If you're upgrading suggest you just try it and see, suspect it'll be fine.

I've had a 200/200 plan with Snap and now 2degrees on a FB 7390 from day 1 and have no speed problems. Since it uses one of the ethernet ports - it technically supports gig.

Cheers

7390 will do 200/200 no problem, Have seen it easily do gbit, However the 7490 has a slight edge there.

What's the benefit of the 7490?

wireless AC, slightly stronger CPU IIRC.

@cjmchch would be able to give a definite answer.

Hi all,

Yup, as some have pointed out, 7390 will do 200/200 fine (performs pretty well right up to 1Gbps too).

Just keep in mind the limitations of Wireless N if you connect via wifi at some distance, if you need the speed it is best to connect through Ethernet on these faster connections.

Thanks,

In my experience the 7390 capped out about 490Mb in speed tests, while the 7490 had no problem with the full gigabit.

Saying that what real world website will give you a Gigabit down :)

You should be fine at 200/200 on the 7390.

Now all we need is more Gigabit Plans to test it out ;)
