Hi.

I have been with 2degrees on their prepay plan for 4 years now amd noticed something interesting.

Whenever someone leaves a voicemail message I get a notification sms text messgae saying

Call 202 to hear 1 new voice message(s). Last message received at 16:27 on 12-09-2016 from +6427*******.

Now I do find this useful but funny thing is that unlike any other text essages I receive this text messages from 202 get deleted whenever I receive a new notification. So total message count received from this number 202 is always 1 because no matter how many voicemail messgaes I have and no matter how many notifications I receive for each voicemail message the previous notification text message gets deleted and the only new one appears.

Does my carrier, 2degrees, sends out a special header to delete all previous messages or

Is this my phone doing it as it can somehow recognise voicemail notifications messages?

I can't say if this is applicable to other carriers but if it is then let me know as I am curious to find out whether this is a standard practice.

Thanks

I am with 2D using Messenger (not to be confused with Messaging - both Google SMS products) as my SMS

I have tons of messages from 202 notifying me that I have a new message or a missed call (going back to July 2013 when I got this phone)
