I've noticed that the $70 pay monthly plan is reduced to $60 per month for one year, however as an existing customer when I attempt to switch to this plan via the online portal it still quotes a price of $70.

Does anyone know if this special deal is available to existing customers, or is it for new sign-ups only?

It's always for new sign ups.

Why would they let you pay them $10 less than what you do now

I'm currently on the $40 plan so potentially I would be spending $20 more, but I'm not prepared to spend $30 considering what the competition are offering.

If they don't want to recognise loyal customers, seems like the obvious choice is to save even more money by switching to skinny direct.

Not true,

They apply a $10.00 credit, shows up as full charge on the bill and a $10 credit underneath.

@itxtme is correct (thanks!). We bill you for $69.95 or $89.95 and then add the $10 credit on your bill.

More info Pay Monthly plans - https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobile/pay-monthly/

Existing customers can upgrade in Your 2degrees to take advantage of these deals and need to select the 'full price' plan. The $10 credit is added on the 2nd month and will added over a total of 12 months.

Cheers

Thanks for the response. I spoke to a helpful guy in the call centre today who set me up accordingly.

As a bit of general feedback, you may want to check the prices quoted when you change your plan via the online portal. It quotes a price of $70 with no mention of the $10 credit, hence the ambiguity as to whether this is available to existing customers.
