So I have been a customer of orcons for 4 years. When I went to get a new modem from them, they said that I can't, cause my credit rating is -34.

They told me that after my contract is up, that they will be moving everyone to the new platform. Thing is I cannot get onto the new platform apparently because my credit rating is -34.

Flick energy said my credit rating was good.

Orcon says I have a bill with dun and Bradstreet, I rang them and they said that I have nothing with them. Orcon still says that when my contract ends that they won't be able to do anything about it. I have been with them for 4 years. I'm so guttered cause I don't want to change from them. Credit department reckons there's nothing they can do and their system won't allow me on the new platform. Totally guttered.

Have you missed payments to Orcon and they have needed to chase you?

Ask Orcon for that information showing you have a bill with D&B  - you can get credit checks done for free online - https://www.govt.nz/browse/consumer-rights-and-complaints/debt-and-credit-records/check-your-own-credit-report/

Hi there,

This sounds a little odd, could you PM me with your account details please?

Cheers,

Cam

Hi there,

When I try to reply to your PM it tells me you prefer not to receive PMs.

Anyway, I have requested some more info on the issue, I should hopefully hear back soon.

Cheers,

Cam

No, I always pay my bills on time all the time, there was only once from what I remember that I was 2 days late.

Heh, I remember when I missed a bill once with them, thought I'd just pay it the next month, but nope, I was getting phone calls from their credit recovery team within a week :-p Which seemed to be outsourced..... because when I called them back to follow up, the woman who answered didnt seem to know who Orcon was or even why I'd be calling her until I gave her the full story...... odd way of doing things but oh well. Was sorted with no issues in the end.

Did you try the free credit reports ? Did they show anything ?

Howdy Ron

Yes there are two platforms. The original platform which is 'legacy' Orcon (Cosmos) and the new platform (Orcon+) that was bought about by the merger of CallPlus/M2/Vocus.
I believe that the end goal is to gradually migrate all legacy customers onto the new platform and all new customers will automatically be provisioned on the new platform.
I think that basically sums it all up.

Cheers
