I got sent a new 7490 to upgrade my 7390 and I've dropped from a solid 3MB per second download rate to only 120KB per second. Something is clearly throttling the speed somehow but I'm not sure what. Doesn't make a difference whether I am on wifi or lan, and is the same on all of my devices. I have not changed any settings except for upgrading the firmware on the 7490 to try and fix it. I'm wondering if I have been sent a bung / refurbished router possibly? Really keen to experience the increased wifi range for the 7490, but this is currently unusable so I have to switch back to the 7390. If anyone might know a fix then it would be good to know before I try to contact 2 Degrees.

Thanks

Ah, nevermind I think I figured this out. 2 Degrees has left an '@2dgrees.factory' test account active on the router. Entering my own account details fixed this. I wrongly assumed that 2 Degrees would have set this up automatically like Snap did for the 7390.

Hi SheepNZ,

Our modems are configured on default/factory accounts and are supposed to call home and download their user-specific configuration once they are hooked up, it appears your device hasn't done this correctly.

Can you please message us your broadband customer number, we'd like to check it out and make sure everything is now OK with the device.

Thanks,

Ralph ^JOB
