Is there anyone here with Orcon that is on VDSL and still has POTS rather than Genius Voice? Chorus are how showing that my address qualifies for VDSL so considering the upgrade.

I've got an alarm system I'd have to re-wire if we remove POTS and other complications so at present we're on ADSL2.

Also I'm running an R7000 + Tomato as my firewall rather than default model/router firmware that I'd like to keep running.

Any tips on how I can switch to VDSL but keep an existing Router.

If you have POTS you are probably on UCLL (Orcon Kit in the exchange) ?

If you move to VDSL you end up on CHorus equipment which means the phone changes to VOIP on the Genius router.

One option would be to move your voice to 2talk and get Naked Orcon VDSL. That way you can then use any router and be supported for VOIP.

What kind of authentication does Orcon use for wholesale VDSL these days?

If PPPoE, does it require a valid PPP username and password combination if so is this disclosed to the customer or automatically obtained (CWMP/TR-069).

Port Auth for any new accounts as they go into the new billing platform

So what are the settings we need to put into our third party routers? or are they unchanged from before?
