Ok been banging my head against the wall with this Netcomm NF4V router. Anyone setup one of these for My Republic's VDSL service.

Note I have the standard My Republic router and it works fine.

Hi there,

To set up your Netcomm NF4V modem, simply open a web browser on your computer and type the default gateway address 192.168.20.1. in the address bar.

A login window will appear. The default username and password is usually admin/admin.

Click on Advanced Setup so the modem will try to detect connection and click on WAN Service. Create new ptm0.1 interface with the following settings:

WAN Service type: IPoE

802.1P Priority: 0

802.1Q VLAN ID: 10

VPI: 0

VCI: 100

Obtain IP address automatically

Network Address Translation Settings:

Enable NAT

Enable Firewall

Cheers,

The Team @ MyRepublic

If the details are correct then it will be the vlan id 10 where I went wrong.

I'd talked to 2 Techincal people and one Sales rep. All which informed that there was no vlan tag on the VDSL circuit.

Cheers I will give it a go when I'm next onsite.

The wizard allows you to configure it simply. Every VDSL2 connection over Chorus uses VLAN10.

They were probably confused as their fibre broadband is untagged.

VPI/VCI for EUBA connections (ADSL2+ over native EUBA rather than ATM if your RSP supports it and VDSL2) is also 0/110 for every provider over Chorus. You don't need to set this in the modem though.
