Noticed the old issue of slow UFB has returned. Seems to be all day at the moment. Im on a 100/20 plan. Speed tests to their own server are as low as 30Mbps. Ookla seems to pick Hamilton as the preferred server. I also note international speeds have dropped.

Anyone else noticed this? Im in Rangiora (off the ChCh node)

Yep I am having the same issues now living in Chch. I have somewhat normal upload speed at 200mpbs and I only have about 20 download which is insanely low. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/5926155123

Yes!! I made an account with Geekzone this morning to try suss this out. I contact  MR yesterday afternoon and was told this:

"We have had comms from Huawei (Company that own your ONT) that our customers on Max speed plans / GIG in UFF or Enable areas as there is a ultra speed issue between both UFF & Enable. We are working with our service providers to resolve it. Apologies for any inconvience."

We are on the gigabit plan, live in Rangiora and are getting between 5Mbps and 200Mbps. It is varying SO much and that is wired. We also got 30Mbps plugged directly into LAN1. So def not the modem.

Can anyone confirm that what they have said is correct? My poor husband is pretty pissed as it's his birthday today and all he wanted to do today was online game... Not with those speeds he won't be hahaha. Here's a screenshot of a wireless speed test on our 5G band. (This used to get 350Mbps)

Not at home at present, so can't check speed to see if we have an issue on our 100/20 plan.

Haven't received an email from MR advising of any issues and there are no incidents listed on their status page. None listed on Enable either.

If MR are monitoring this discussion, I would hope that they update their status page to keep customers informed. Not much point having a status page if it is not correct.

I don't understand how you could get 8ms ping to the Auckland speed test server. The fact latency hasn't increased shows it's unlikely to be typical saturation.

They clearly buy more bandwidth than anyone else.

Stop using different speedtest servers. In fact, stop using the speedtest flash website. Try using the windows 10 ookla speedtest app, and pick one close speedtest server and only use that.

Cheers - N

With MR in Christchurch the lowest ping times and fastest speeds will be to Auckland. All traffic seems to be routed to MR's servers in Auckland, before coming back to Christchurch.
