We have slowly started enabling IPV6 on UFB services.
Hopefully you will start seeing them pop up on your routers (and see a nice IPV6 Geekzone logo at the top of geekzone).
Areas so far:
Napier
Levin
New Plymouth
Palmerston North

Sadly, no sign of IPV6 working yet; rebooted the router this morning "just in case", but nope.
Hopefully not too much longer...
From an end-user perspective, what is the benefit of being on ipv6?

Probably minimal to none; however, this forum is called GEEKzone for a reason!

Other than the fact that IPv4 is a dwindling resource and IPv6 allows an enormous amount of IP addresses not really you home network should never run out of IPv4 addresses so you'll never need to memorize a a huge number like this
2605:4428:1314:bf00:0000:0000/56 vs 192.168.0.1 or 10.1.1.1

That much I knew. Even 15-20 years ago when I was working in IT, there was periodic panic about IPV4 running out.
I was at my sister's yesterday when I noticed the IPV6 logo on Geekzone, and I dont get that at home.
So was just curious regarding the end user benefits.

Well the 23rd of March came and went. Can't say I'm surprised that there is still no sign of IPV6.
Any reason for the delay? or a revised date of activation?
Cheers.
also interested to know the benefit for home user that does pretty regular stuff.. browsing.. gaming.. iptv etc..
