Keep dreaming.
If they ever did unlimited data, it would be on account only (remember they're focused on getting prepay customers to change to Pay Monthly). If there is some new prepay stuff coming, it would be more likely be something to allow them to compete with Skinny Direct.
Sure.. You want something like the US unlimited plans which aren't actually unlimited? And at a price similar to the US which is far more than we pay for mobile services here in NZ now?
Something like $20 for unlimited calls/txt + 1/2/3Gb on 4G and after limited to 256kbps for unlimited data, but fair use policy applies will shake market a bit :)

Something like tmobile in the US offered called binge on.
Prplppleater: All fair replies and it's not something I expected them to do, but a new plan is being released that is going to rock the market, any other ideas what it could be?
They're currently offering 1GB for $29 compared to Skinny Direct's 3GB for $30, so they have a long way to go to just catch up, let alone "rock the market".
More texts/minutes aren't going to tempt anyone. Data is the only important component of a mobile plan in 2017.
I think you should have a question mark at the end of your thread title if it is just speculation.
When did 2Degrees say there was a new plan on the way? Where has this information come from?
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Why not just wait to see what 2D is going to release. I don't have psychic abilities.

While I like my data, I also know that there are people out there that live very different lives and to them, hearing somebodies voice is more important than Facebook or a YouTube video.

Yeh even if it is unlimited data, it will run fairly poorly when everyone who cant get anything faster than a poor ADSL line starts smashing it. It will make the network drop a few packets to say the least.
Some fair use policy will apply.

Two points in response:
1) I don't mean that there's any significant appetite for mobile plans without voice/text allowances. I simply mean that we long ago reached the point where even entry level plans have enough of those two things. I'm on the cheapest 2D plan and have unlimited texts and something like 5000 carryover minutes (despite using my mobile as my primary phone). I think the number of people crying out for more minutes and texts is low.
2) In 2017, voice and texts go through data anyway. Messaging apps have almost entirely replaced SMS, and as soon as data allowances become more generous, VOIP is going to replace phone calling.
