I want to know the procedure or what may be involved if I wanted to request the details associated to a phone number. It belonged to a very close friend of mine, who has since left the country years ago, and I think it may be of help to me. Just wanting any heads up really.

Thanks

You won't get any details from 2degrees not least due to privacy reasons.

If you provide more information about the situation however we may be able to provide alternative methods to locating your 'missing' friend.

Well, its very very personal, if I may say so, been 2 years and 6 days to be exact. I am looking for a last name and any other information I may be able to request, If need be to go through any legal channels, I may do so. On grounds of matters of the heart really, if I may, documentations of which I still carry. ;) So I would like to talk privately if anybody wills to direct me the right way. Would be greatly appreciated and I mean it.

2Degrees won't give you this information based on your reason. The Privacy Act won't allow it.

Skiptracing is the bread-and-butter of private investigators so they are your best option if you can afford it for professional support.

Otherwise there are plenty of resources online but essentially it begins with collating all the information you have about the person (names, numbers, acquaintances, occupations, locations...) and systematically investigating each lead etc.

As mentioned you won't get this sort of information for companies like 2degrees due to privacy however previous colleagues etc of the person may be willing to share more information with you.

Have you tried Googling the name and/or number? Searching Facebook, contacting friends / clubs etc?

Thank you.

Well, I am a technological dinosaur, I dont have facebook and dont even own a real smart phone, I have tried google and some searches came with nothing, I only have a few details, becoming very old school but I just learned what skiptracing means. I am willing to shell out for some professional support in a way. I am just not sure what direction to head.

Apart from what solutionz has suggested there's no other direction "to head in". Privacy laws mean they wouldn't just release information like that freely anyway.
