Dunno if it is slingshot or my router but it constatnly disconnects.

Sometimes the PPP light goes off other times it stays on and I have to turn it off then back on. Any ideas why this may be happening?

It's a Dynalink RTA1320 modem

Most likely its overheating.
This  modem failed after 1 to 3 years of usage. I have one oveheat after 8 months of usage, get a replacment

put away in a cupboard as backup in case my wireless modem/router stop working.

What kind of internet activity are you doing when this happens?  Does it happen at certain times of the day?

Can you try your modem at a different place?
Have you a 2nd modem to try on the line?
What other hardware have you got connected on the line?

Have you phoned the helpdesk?

If i remember right, thats the free modem supplied by slingshot.

The most common cause of problems for these modems is the internal software crashes when you use over 250 connections at once. Peer to peer applications usually cause it to go over 200. Is it happening when you are using bittorrent or another p2p program?
