I see Fritzbox has updated to FRITZ!OS: 06.83

Version: FRITZ!OS 6.83

Language: English, French, Italian, Polish, Spanish

Release date: 03/15/2017

New features:

- Reservation of data rates

- FRITZ!Fon: new start screens und a night service
- Extra security and network adjustments

Below you find a complete list and descriptions of the new functions in the latest FRITZ!OS, along with a list of further improvements in this version.

New and improved Features in FRITZ!OS 6.83

Security:
NEW - Password for registering an IP telephone with the FRITZ!Box must have at least eight characters. IP telephones with a shorter password will be disabled with this update.
NEW - Certain settings and features require additional confirmation by the user where the FRITZ!Box is located

Storage (NAS):
NEW - FRITZNAS user interface optimized for tablets and smartphones (responsive design)

USB/UMTS:
NEW - Text messages received at mobile communications dongles operating as a modem displayed as events

* We recommend using VPN for remotely connecting IP-telephony devices

Priorities in WiFi

With the FRITZ!OS 6.83 update users can be sure to surf, stream or chat without interference even if the guest network is highly used. So you can decide which transmission rates you and your guests are entitled to. If the FRITZ!Box owners are not online, the guests can enjoy higher data rates. The new online monitor is also very handy, since it now displays the data rates of the guest access on top of the usual downstream rates for Internet and IPTV.
