Hey folks,

We recently upgraded from ADSL to VDSL, via Slingshot and received a NF4V VDSL modem for our troubles.

Since upgrading, we've been unable to access the work VPN, worked fine on the ADSL router.

We've followed instructions from here and referred to previous geekzone posts (searched "vpn + slingshot + NF4V).

Edit: Can connect to VPN via mobile (Vodafone) hotspot.

Absoloutely tearing my hair out, would love any suggestions as to how to resolve this.

Thanks,

Toni

What exactly have you tried?  Usually all that's needed is to disable the appropriate VPN passthrough on the router (IPSEC/PPTP)

Hello,

Have you spoken to our techs about this one? You shouldn't have any trouble with VPN. May be an issue with your modem config.

- phoned Slingshot support line, operator told me they "did not know what a VPN was and couldn't help"

- tried the details in this article from Netcomm

media.netcomm.com.au/public/assets/.../NF4V-Port-Triggering-Setup-Guide_opt.pdf

- then did a factory reset as it didn't work

- tried instructions from this geekzone post

Yep phoned when we first had trouble and were told they did not know what a VPN was and could not help.

Currently the hardware supplied by Slingshot is back to factory settings and we remain unable to connect to the VPN.

What VPN software are you using?

I have seen issues where the network you are connecting from is using the same range as the one you are connecting to.

Fixed by changing IP address range of the router (eg,. if your router uses 192.168.1.x, change it and the DHCP range to 10.1.1.x).

Of course, this is pretty rare, and if you can't even connect, it likely isn't that.

Just to be clear: you tried this?

The setting you want is under "Advanced Setup > NAT > ALG"

Whatever type of VPN it is (probably IPSEC) try disabling or enabling the ALG for that type, and try again.

and you tried it for each VPN type?

#iamreid did you end up resolving the VPN issue with your Slingshot router?

I'm having the same issue since upgrading to VDSL using the same router.

It was sorted but not from my own doing, the friendly Slingshot fairy sorted it from their end!

Perhaps PM them and they can do the same for you?
