Hello all.

I have searched but unable to find anything so hopefully someone can help.

Fibre is about to be installed in our area and I am currently with Slingshot. I don't have their stock standard cheap ass router but have a Fritz 7490.

Slingshot don't provide a lot of help for people with non supplied modems.

Can anyone guide me through the setup process in the 7490 for Fibre and phone settings on the Slingshot network please. I realise I wont have the phone details and login at this stage, but if a general guide is given what and where I need to do the settings that would be greatly appreciated.

I have a spare 7490 that I will start the setup process on so when fibre is installed I can just drop it into place, put in the phone number details and hopefully away we go.

I can confirm the 7490 will work with Slingshot Fibre.

Pretty much the same settings as 2Degrees. Just need to change your account username and password accordingly.

For the landline, add a new internet phone number with the 64 prefix, password is your account password.

Provider, registrar & proxy all set to 119.224.142.182

You may need to wait a few hours for the phone to be activated.

Here are my settings.

Hi Mouwen

Thank you for your reply above. I got fibre on today and Slingshot have changed their process where they send the settings down to the Fritz so that makes life a lot easier.

The speeds on my fibre are amazing

I have a question that you or someone else may be able to assist with.

I pay for easy phone features from Slingshot, caller id, voice messages with messages that are left at voicemail then emailed to me, and other features that I dont really use that much.

I notice though in the Fritz box there are settings for caller id and voice messages that are left able to be emailed to me.

Can I ask, if I drop the easy phone features from Slingshot, will the Fritz box provide the caller id of callers, and record and email voice messages, without the need to pay for this service from Slingshot ?????
