Hey guys wondering if someone can help

I have moved from the north island to the South Island and my netgear router isn't working with my Chorus ONT for some reason (I was on a Huawei one up north)

Just wondering if someone can recommend a router from netgear, tplink or linksys that would work with 2D fibre

I'm stuck with these brands as the only retailer I can grab one from today is Harvey Norman so if anyone knows of a model that would work fine I'd love to know.

You need to know if the provider supports VLAN tagging or not and if the AP needs to

Currently running a D7000 from Netgear but when manually set up with Vlan at 10 and setting it for wan mode via Ethernet it still can't connect

2 Degrees assures me my new ONT (it's a new build) is fine and communicating back to them but that there is no traffic whatsoever from whatever is plugged into Ethernet one (my D7000)

I got a new D7000 this morning but no dice

Try connecting your computer directly to the ONT to check the fibre is actually working first, before you do something else.

Set VLAN 10 in your network card's settings, then start the PPPoE dialer in Windows using your 2d user/pass. You should be able to connect.

D7000 is known to work on Spark UFB (albeit perhaps without maxing gigabit connections - fine for 200 though). So far as I know, Spark and 2degrees both use VLAN 10 tags so it should work.

Have you configure the correct DHCP or PPPoE settings as required for 2D?

There's no reason I can think of why your current router won't work - as long as you have the VLAN tag on the WAN port, and configured DHCP / PPPoE as appropriate, it should work fine. I would troubleshoot the connection, not get a new router.

EDIT: 2D require PPPoE (not DHCP) - so tag the VLAN on the WAN, PPPoE settings, and you should be good to go.

Any idea how I can set vlan in windows 10 now? Maybe I'm just noobing out but iirc it was in here

Just a thought - your connection hasn't been configured to a different port on the ONT if there was a previous tenant?

Nah it's a new build mate

I requested changeover for March 12th and they only finished getting my fibre in yesterday morning -_-

Password left blank on purpose and I rung and reset it with 2D last night on the off chance

Looks OK - but is there a way to disable the DSL interface - perhaps it's trying to use that as a preference first - disable VDSL...
